Overview

The Infrastructure Connectivity-I Division strives to create a transport system that is common, connected, convenient, congestion-free, clean, charged, and cutting-edge through policy formulation, project appraisal, and reforms for the Roads & Highways and Railways sectors.

Core Functions
  • Facilitate policy formulation and advisory support for the Roads & Highways and Railways sectors.
  • Appraise SFC/DIB/EFC/PIB/EBR/PPR proposals, Cabinet Notes and major infrastructure investment projects/ multilateral investment and schemes.
  • Provide policy inputs and recommendations to Line Ministries through discussions, analytical studies and policy papers.
  • Provide critical input on legislative proposals and sectoral reforms.
  • Support outcome-based monitoring and infrastructure review mechanisms, including reviews chaired by the Hon'ble Prime Minister.
  • Facilitate evidence-based decision-making and inter-ministerial coordination on transport infrastructure sector.
