The Governance & Reforms Division of NITI Aayog is responsible for long-term and systemic transformation in governance across sectors. This Division was established on 3 rd April, 2025 to drive structural, cross-cutting reforms that are critical for achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat @2047.

Moving beyond incremental changes, the Division focuses on reimagining institutions, simplifying regulatory frameworks, enhancing administrative efficiency, and fostering innovation in public service delivery. Its vision is to build a future-ready, agile, and citizen- centric governance ecosystem that supports India’s aspiration of becoming a developed nation by 2047. It aims to work collaboratively with ministries, state governments, domain experts, think tanks and institutions to incubate and scale transformative ideas that have the potential to fundamentally reshape governance mechanisms.
