In these challenging times, your support can go a long way in helping India fight the COVID-19 pandemic. We are facilitating COVID relief support either in the form of Monetary Assistance or in Kind. Before donating, we request you to go through the FAQs.

 

Support in Kind

I wish to provide aid in-kind via the Indian Red Cross Society

A dedicated team has been constituted to expedite and facilitate the import of COVID-19 relief material into India by domestic and foreign institutions. The submission process has been streamlined through the CovAID portal. The team is there to provide end to end support right from initiating a request to getting the items to the intended beneficiary.

Please note that for items donated through Indian Red Cross Society, the customs duty waiver certificate from Red Cross will be signed by the authorised signee at Indian Red Cross Society, and GST will be exempted for the Indian Red Cross Society on the materials/item under donation. The final placement of the donated items will be as per the information from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. For detailed information for exemptions, please refer to the FAQs below.

 

There are three simple steps:

Step 1: Intent of Assistance

Please fill and submit the Intent of Assistance Form with details of support offered. The letter must specify an unconditional intent to import items to support COVID-related relief work in India, and provide the name & quantity of items and broad logistical details along with estimated timelines.

You will receive a notification with a unique id for your intent of assistance.

 

Step 2: Shipping

All shipments will be routed through the Indian Red Cross Society (Consignee). All such shipments would be exempted from customs duty, health-cess and GST obligations. Your consignments can be received anywhere in India by the Indian Red Cross Society.

The team will ensure intimation to Indian Red Cross Society, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Customs, Ports, Airports and will verify and coordinate further.

Once verified, you will be prompted to share the details of donations along with the following papers for the Indian Red Cross Society to facilitate the process on arrival including Customs & all other clearances. We will be providing end-to-end assistance. The following documents will have to be submitted:

  1. WayBill
  2. Commercial invoice and total value of donated items
  3. Packing list
  4. Donation Certificate/Gift certificate/Covering Letter
  5. Flight/cargo details (date and time of arrival)

In case I wish extend support in kind, what items are needed on priority?

The following items may be considered on priority (all are of equal priority) -

  • Oxygen cylinders with 10 liters and 45 liters LMO capacity
  • Oxygen concentrators
  • Remdesivir
  • Tocilizumab
  • Ventilators/ BIPAP
  • Viral RNA extration (VRE)
  • RT-PCR kits for detection of Covid
  • Viral Transport Medium (VTM)
  • Magnetic Stands (MT)

In addition to above, we are open to other support/materials that you may like to offer.

How do I extend support in-Kind (through Indian Red Cross Society facilitated by Government of India)?

What are the benefits of providing aid through Indian Red Cross Society?

Donations through Indian Red Cross Society, are eligible for Custom duty waiver and GST exemption on the materials/item under donation. A dedicated team has been constituted to expedite and facilitate import of COVID-19 relief material into India by domestic and foreign institutions.

Who decides on the final placement of donated items?

If donated via the Indian Red Cross Society, the final placement of the donated items will be as per the information from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Who decides on the final placement of the imported relief material?

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India (MoHFW) will have absolute discretion on allocation and final placement of relief material if donated via the Indian Red Cross Society (CovAid Portal). The COVID Logistic Task Force at NITI Aayog works in close coordination with MoHFW and other Central and State agencies to expedite and optimise utilization of imported resourced. All materials/ equipment/ items received in form of unconditional relief support will be part of the central pool of resources and will be allocated as per necessity.

Where can Indian Red Cross receive consignments?

The Indian red Cross Society can accept consignment anywhere in India.
