The CEO, Shri Amitabh Kant, highlighted various challenges and requisite systems that need to be evolved at the local level to catalyse transformative change in over a hundred Aspirational Districts. Drawing from global and national data, the presentation highlights key areas of nutrition, education, health and availability of electricity. The CEO also describes the process of selection of the Aspirational Districts, their allocation to specific ministries and stresses the need for real time monitoring and annual ranking of performance of districts on key developmental parameters.

Secretaries of Ministries such as Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers’ Welfare, Finance, Health & Family Welfare, Human Resources and Development, Rural Development, Skill Development, Women and Child Development, Drinking Water & Sanitation, Home Affairs, Power, Water Resources and Housing,Urban Affairs &Poverty Alleviation gave presentations with regard to respective ministries. They highlighted various programmes, schemes and policies in operation at the district level. The presentations take a comprehensive view of key learnings, achievements and challenges, and expected outcomes of flagship programmes.

Presentations by the District Collectors
District Collectors, who head the Aspirational Districts, gave presentations focussing on keystone areas for transformative change such as agriculture and irrigation, basic infrastructure including housing, electricity and water supply, education, health and nutrition, financial inclusion and skill development, and tackling Left-Wing Extremism (LWE). The presentations highlight existing best practices, suggested measures for improvement in programme implementation and service delivery.
